The Libraries Unlimited project is run by British Council in collaboration with the Department of Public Education to modernize our public library infrastructure around the country and create engagement and agency among the communities they are housed in. The brief was to design and implement a multi level community engagement program around the local public libraries through a series of events. We designed a lively, interactive and stimulating 2 day event module involving speakers, performers, debates, games and contests with local community leaders, public librarians and school children. The agency has so far rolled out 12 of the 25 planned events with great success and enthusiastic participation before being interrupted by the pandemic.
